George Lacy

George Lacy lettered in football, basketball and baseball at the University of Richmond.  He was captain of the football and basketball squads his senior year in 1935-36, and was selected to the All-State basketball team three times. 
 
In 1934-35, Lacy led the University of Richmond to a 20-0 record, its only unbeaten season.  He was selected to the University of Richmond Baseball Dream Team.  Lacy was a baseball catcher and caught every game in his varsity career, hitting .429 when the team was 18-2-1 in 1935.  He was All State in baseball for three consecutive years and never hit under .400 in college.
 
Upon graduation, Lacy was signed by the Boston Red Sox where he spent several years before joining the Minnesota Twins as a scout.  He was elected to Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, at the University of Richmond, served four years as class senator, was an Honor Council member and President of the athletic association.  Lacy was honored by his alma mater and was inducted into its Hall of Fame.
